Since 1 March 2020, Hendrik Fleßner has taken over the global sales and marketing management role for the Velvetol business at the WeylChem Group. This was announced by the company in a press release issued on 11 May 2020.
Enhanced by a Diploma in Business Chemistry, Fleßner has gained within various positions more than ten years of international experience in the coatings, adhesives, sealants, and elastomers (CASE) industries.
Velvetol is a range of 100 % bio-based polyether polyols made with renewably sourced 1,3-propanediol. The product is said to offer an ideal replacement for petroleum-based polyols, providing advantages in various applications without compromising functionality and, at the same time increasing the renewable content of end products. Compared to petrochemical alternatives such as PTMEG, the product is said to have a significantly lower environmental footprint, providing similar or better performance and consistent quality. Allessa GmbH produces Velvetol at its plant in Frankfurt, Germany.
