Mocom: Spin-off completed

Mocom Compounds GmbH & Co. KG, a former division of Albis Plastic GmbH and part of the owner-managed Otto Krahn Group, is now operating as an independent company. With the entry into the commercial register, the last formal step of the spin-off of the compounding division has now been completed. This was announced by the company on 19 October 2020. The Otto Krahn Group also includes the plastics distributor Albis, the Krahn Chemie Group and the plastics recycler Wipag.

„With this milestone, we are continuing a success story that began almost 50 years ago,“ says Ian Mills, former CSO of Albis and newly appointed CEO of Mocom. „We have an excellent legacy on which to build, namely the expertise and know-how of our experienced team and our proven product brands, which have made the compounding business what it is today. As an independent brand, we will fully focus on our strength in developing and producing high quality, competitive material solutions in close cooperation with our customers and take it to a new level“.

Mocom continues to produce and market its well-known product brands such as Alcom, Altech, Tedur, and Alfater XL as well as the wide range of high-quality Near-To-Prime recycling products such as Altech Eco and Alfater XL Eco (see below). Those products are available globally and produced at sites in Hamburg, Zülpich and Obernburg, Germany, as well as in Duncan, USA, and Changshu, China.

„Our own brands are used in a variety of applications and will continue to be produced under the same conditions and at the same locations in the future,“ explains Mills.

Mocom will provide direct support for a number of selected customers, whilst its full product portfolio will continue to be available via its sister company Albis acting as a distribution partner.
