The US subsidiary of the Nantong based Chinese TPE compounder Polymax has earned the IATF 16949:2016 certification from the International Automotive Task Force (IATF), effective from 19 February 2018. The certification recognises the company’s ability to meet or exceed current specifications for products, services, and systems to ensure quality, safety, and efficiency.

Polymax said that IATF 16949:2016 has become one of the most widely used international standards in the automotive industry, with the aim of harmonising the different assessment and certification systems in the global automotive supply chain. IATF 16949:2016 is a quality management system that facilitates continual improvement, emphasises defect prevention, includes specific requirements and tools from the automotive industry, and promotes the reduction of variation and waste in the automotive supply chain. IATF 16949:2016 is implemented in conjunction with ISO 9001:2015.

The company’s products have been approved by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles N.V. (FCA) and are listed in FCA’s network of authorised suppliers. The company is based in Waukegan, IL, USA, and has facilities in Nantong, China. The two plants have a total capacity of about
