Hexpol has acquired 80 % of the shares in Italian compounder Mesgo from the existing main owner Francesco Caldara and co-owners. Pursuant to the agreement, Hexpol has an option to acquire remaining shares, and the Caldara family has an option to sell their remaining shares to the Swedish group.

Mesgo is a supplier of elastomers such as fluorocarbons and silicone. In addition, it specialises in conventional rubber compounds and thermoplastics as well. With around 180 employees the group has annual sales of around EUR 100 million. It has facilities in Carobbio and Gorlago in Italy and in Poland and Turkey. Facilities specialising in thermoplastics and masterbatches are located in Garlasco and Grigno in Italy.
