Because of their sandwich position between rubber and plastic materials TPE occupy a special position in regulatory and standardisation issues where a deep understanding of the nature and chemistry of these materials is a must.
Beginning of 2016 an initiative was formed as a platform on which these and many other material-related aspects are discussed by experts from industry, academia, and industry associations. After three years the non-profit organisation TPE-Forum is proud to having set already many milestones, such as the harmonisation of TPE-related conferences, seminars, workshops and other education offers in Germany, in the field of standardisation of TPV, the formation of a group for a re-design of DIN EN ISO 18064 and much more.
