Shah receives SPE Lifetime Achievement Award

Dr. Suresh Shah, retired, Senior Technical Fellow at Delphi Corporation, formerly General Motors (GM) – Automotive Components Group (ACG), has received the 2017 Lifetime Achievement Award from the Automotive Division of the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE). Shah joined General Motors in 1985 and worked in several technical positions at GM and Delphi, where he advanced several plastic processes and material developments involving natural fibre composites, nanocomposites, TPOs and TPEs. This lead to innovations including, e.g., the single piece, all plastic door hardware module SuperPlug and TPO thermoformable skin for instrument panels. Shah has won more than 20 awards internationally. He is an active volunteer at SPE, serving as councillor since 2016, board member since 1990, automotive division chair (2000), and technical committee member or chair for several conferences since 1987.
