Michael A. Garratt has been appointed as President of Specialty Engineered Materials at PolyOne on an interim basis. He succeeds Craig M. Nikrant, who has left the company. With more than 27 years of experience in the speciality polymer sector, Garratt joined PolyOne in 2013 as president of Performance Products & Solutions, where he served until his appointment to Chief Commercial Officer in 2016.
Garratt started his career at Dow Chemical and later worked for the joint venture DuPont Dow Elastomers. Prior to joining PolyOne, he held the positions of President at Marmon Utility and Chief Operating Officer of Excel Polymers. In addition, David A. Jarus has been named as new Vice President, research and development, at PolyOne. He succeeds Dr. Christopher J. Murphy, who will retire in July 2018. Jarus joined the company in 2000 as an advanced R+D scientist and has progressively earned increasing responsibility in leadership positions.
