Lubrizol held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on 24 May 2018, celebrating the successful start-up of its latest TPU capacity expansion in Avon Lake, OH, USA. The company announced that it has invested USD 27 million at the site, creating 15 new jobs. Details on the production capacity were not disclosed.
According to Lubrizol, the expansion is part of its strategic global capacity expansion programme supporting its Engineered Polymers business and product lines including Estane TPU, Pearlthane TPU, Pearlbond TPU and others, totalling nearly USD 80 million across the globe. The company said it is anticipating demand for speciality polymers and compounds to grow at double digit rates.
