Kraton Corporation announced that it has joined the Association of Plastics Recyclers (APR), the national trade association representing companies that acquire, reprocess and sell the output of more than 90 % of the post-consumer plastic processing capacity in North America.
Kraton is a producer of speciality polymers and bio-based products derived from pine wood pulping co-products. Its polymers are used in a wide range of applications including adhesives, coatings, consumer and personal care products, sealants, lubricants, medical, packaging, automotive, paving and roofing applications. The company’s pine-based speciality products are sold into adhesives, roads and construction and tyre markets. According to Kraton, its solutions enable a holistic approach to the plastic product life cycle. Its new portfolio of CirKular+ products is said to offer versatile multi-resin compatibilisation in a wide range of applications for virgin materials, bioplastics and industrial plastic and PCR streams.
“Kraton is excited to be a member of a leading industry association and leverage our unique innovations to collectively advance the circular economy,” said Bob Hall, Senior Director, Global Marketing, Kraton. “We are well-positioned to drive success in this space through value chain collaboration and cost-efficient solutions, expanding end-use applications for various post-consumer recycling (PCR) streams.”
