The Kunststoff-Institut für die mittelständische Wirtschaft NRW GmbH (K.I.M.W.), announced that it has succeeded in developing a concept to digitally translate the standards of automotive manufacturers and integrate them into an online quote configurator in its own web store with the support of the start-up Foxbase. With an in-house developed solution, it is now possible to digitize standards and delivery specifications of various automotive OEMs. Instead of having to manually carry out the test planning for new parts again and again, sometimes waiting several days for a quote from accredited laboratories, customers of the Kunststoff-Institut Lüdenscheid can now request quotes themselves at any time within one minute by answering a few questions and also receive a statement on the estimated processing time. After transfer to the shopping cart, individual adjustments and the creation of a formal offer as a pdf are possible. A subsequent, technical review, adjustments and corrections by a personal contact person are possible at any time. Currently, 21 frequently requested specifications and additionally the new DIN SPEC 91446 for the classification of plastic recyclates are available for selection. The offer will be continuously optimized and further expanded, according to the institute.
