In order to regulate the quality of raw materials for sealing applications, there are two important certifications which are valid worldwide but especially in Europe: CSTB and RAL. Over time, CSTB (Centre Scientifique et Technique du Bâtiment) has become the most important certification required by customers. The CSTB is the French national organisation and regulates tests and certifications in the construction industry. CSTB conducts tests on products and makes audits to the companies in order to give and maintain the certification. The TPE compounder Elastron announced that CSTB has recently changed the certification code related to its products from EC02 to QB36, however test conditions and other requirements are still the same.
